Sweet Bonanza POP: a compact spin on the candy series
Sweet Bonanza POP is a Pragmatic Play slot played on a compact 3×5 grid. There are no fixed paylines: five or more matching fruit or candy symbols pay wherever they land. Every winning cluster starts a Tumble, removing the paying symbols and dropping new ones into the empty spaces without charging another stake. The narrower grid makes each cascade easy to follow, while the POP symbol introduces three instant jackpot levels.
The maximum possible win is 25,000x the stake and the volatility is medium. Operators can offer RTP configurations of 97.05%, 96.58%, 95.59% or 94.56%, so the value shown inside the game should always be checked before playing. RTP is a theoretical long-term average and does not predict the outcome of a single session.
How wins and Tumbles work
After the reels stop, the game counts every copy of the same regular symbol visible across all fifteen positions. Five or six matching symbols form the first payout tier, seven or eight increase the award, and nine or more pay the highest value listed for that symbol. Once a win is paid, all winning symbols pop, new icons fall from above and the grid is checked again. The sequence continues until a new drop produces no additional win.
| Feature | Value |
|---|---|
| Grid | 3 reels × 5 rows |
| Win system | Scatter Pays across the screen |
| Minimum match | 5 identical regular symbols |
| Tumble | New symbols fall without a new stake |
| Maximum win | 25,000x the total stake |
Scatter and POP symbols
The lollipop Scatter and the POP symbol can land on all three reels. Any combination of three or more of these symbols awards ten free spins. That means three Scatters, two Scatters plus one POP, one Scatter plus two POPs, or three POPs all trigger the feature.
POP symbols also determine an instant prize when the bonus starts. One POP awards Spark 50x, two POPs award Snap 500x, and three POPs award Burst 25,000x. Three POPs therefore reach the game’s maximum win immediately. Regular Scatters help trigger the same free-spins round but do not award an instant jackpot.
| POPs on trigger | Free spins | Instant prize |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | 10 | No jackpot |
| 1 | 10 | Spark 50x |
| 2 | 10 | Snap 500x |
| 3 | 10 | Burst 25,000x |
Persistent Candy Bomb multipliers
During free spins, Candy Bombs can land with values up to 1,000x. They remain on the grid for the current Tumble sequence. When the cascading wins end, every visible multiplier is added together and the total is applied to the win from that sequence. The bombs enhance an existing win; they do not create a payout on their own.
Three additional Scatters during the feature add five spins, while four add ten. POP controls the instant reward at the original trigger, Scatters extend the round, and Candy Bombs increase completed winning cascades. Keeping these roles separate makes the bonus much easier to read.
How POP differs from the original
The original Sweet Bonanza uses a 6×5 field and regular wins begin with eight matching symbols. POP reduces the game to 3×5 and starts payouts from five matches. It also adds the dedicated POP icon and fixed jackpot ladder. The result is a faster, more compact version rather than a cosmetic reskin of the base game.
Using the demo responsibly
The demo is useful for learning how the 3×5 counting system, Tumbles, Scatters, POPs and persistent multipliers interact. Its play balance has no cash value, and a short run cannot demonstrate the game’s long-term RTP or the true frequency of the bonus. Set a time limit and a virtual budget even in demo mode. If playing for money, check the selected RTP and stake limits first, never chase losses, and stop when the planned limit is reached.
Summary
Sweet Bonanza POP keeps the fruit, candy and cascading wins of the series, but rebuilds them around a small grid, combined bonus trigger and three POP jackpots. Its defining features are instant prizes of 50x, 500x and 25,000x, plus multipliers up to 1,000x that remain in place throughout a Tumble sequence.
